Fulfilling the wishes of Palliative Care Patients

Paul Hyett, his wife and 5 year old son, had a very special day today in Waiheke.

The day began with a train trip into Britomart early this morning. Having been employed by Fullers for a good many years, Paul was keen to take his family over on the ferry to Waiheke. Fullers Ferries were more than happy to accommodate the family with free passes.
Once on the island Waiheke Hospice volunteer, Karyn Johnson, met the family, driving them around the island, in a car supplied by Phil Ziegler of Waiheke Rentals.

The Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant played host to Paul’s special family, providing a delicious lunch, in a beautiful setting. A tired Hyett family caught the 3pm ferry home to be met at Auckland’s wharf by volunteer , Gerry Lynch, who drove them home in his Lexus to Manurewa. A special day. Thank you one and all
