Fulfilling the wishes of Palliative Care Patients

Michelle  Spijkerbosch has stage 4 Lung cancer. This diagnosis did not stop this positive lady from booking a holiday for her family to celebrate her 50th birthday. However, Michelle was so unwell at the time, that the planned break, for herself, husband and 3 sons, had to be cancelled.

With this disappointment, Michelle contacted Race4Life Trust with a slightly different wish, yet one she knew was manageable. Michele requested a night away in the city with her family, including a ride in a limousine thanks to Lincoln Limousines Penrose. With the additional help and generosity of her work mates, the Spijkerbosch family was able to spend two wonderful nights in the The Sebel Quay West Auckland.

Whilst away, Michelle was pampered by Tamar from Affluent Health Manual Therapy and our gorgeous volunteer Miho Kodaira, who gifted her a reflexology treatment. A team of Race4Life's loyal supporters gifted a basket of yummy goodies for the occasion. Included in this package was, a beautiful gluten free birthday cake from Lisa and the team at Cake Concepts, flowers and of course some bubbles!!

Michelle was spoilt by Lisa from Up Cafe who so generously organised all meals to be delivered to the family room.

Thank you to all those generous people who made this wish so special!!
