Fulfilling the wishes of Palliative Care Patients

LeeAnn Margaret Morrison received a lot more than she bargained for when she requested a parasailing experience as her special wish. LeeAnn (60), who suffers from lung cancer, spent a good part of a week in Queenstown, doing a lot more than just parasailing!!

Together with sister Donna and the help of a car gifted by NZ Rent-a –Car, Lee Anne managed rides on the Shotover Jet and up the Skyline Gondola, she took in the sites of Queenstown while bathing in the Onsen Pools and of course experienced her wish to parasail on Lake Wakatipu.

LeeAnn has many food allergies. On hearing about LeeAnn’s story, Jan from Rawmazing Queenstown gifted a selection of wonderful healthy foods for the girls, to lift their energy levels while gallivanting around this beautiful part of our country. As it happened word spread, and Angela from Raeward Fresh decided to join the party and donated a voucher for LeeAnn to stock up on healthy fruit and vegetables  while in the south.

Sherwood Community Hotel prepared a beautiful dinner, for one of the nights they were in town, noting all the special dietary requirements. Farelli's Trattoria also treated the Ladies to a gorgeous gluten free and vegan meal. Having meals prepared for them with all their requirements in mind was such treat for LeeAnn as eating out had always been such  problem. Baskets of Blessing provided the icing on the cake by gifting a basket of goodies (Gluten, sugar and dairy free of course!)

Whilst away LeeAnn became unwell so the plan to travel to see a friend further South was altered. LeeAnn’s friend travelled to Queenstown instead. All our wonderful service providers, were more than happy to accommodate the needs of her friend.

Queenstown you are Amazing!!
