Fulfilling the wishes of Palliative Care Patients

54 year old Kay Norton contacted us this week with a special wish to go to Wellington. Kay has been given a very slim window of time and advised that if she was wanting to do anything, that it best be done asap.Kay has lung cancer with secondaries in her brain and liver. Time is running out fast

Kay has a real desire to go to the Great War Exhibition at the Dominion Museum. This lovely woman has spent a lot of her life looking after others and calls the ladies at the Women's Shelter in Hamilton, where she works, her very dearest friends. We feel privileged to be able to help Kay's dream come true before she dies.
On Monday, Kay and her friend Colleen will be transported to Hamilton Railway station by Hamilton Taxi's. The two ladies will catch the train to Wellington with tickets kindly donated by Kiwirail Northern Explorer. Wellington Taxi's have organised a Taxi voucher to cater for the ladies travelling needs while in Wellington. Upon arrival they will be taken to their accommodation at ibis Wellington and once freshened up it will be to the Hippopotamus Restaurant and Cocktail Bar they will head.

The following day they will have a city tour kindly gifted by Hammonds Wellington Tours. After lunch at Joe's Garage they will head to the New Zealand Dominion Museum building to see the Great War Exhibition. At 3pm it will be the East Day Spa they will head to for a little pampering.
A rest may be in order before they head off to dinner at the ibis. An early start in the morning for a return trip to Wellington, is the plan.
