Fulfilling the wishes of Palliative Care Patients

Glenis Prout knows how to have a good time. When she considered what she might want to do as a special wish, she was quite definite. A limousine drive and a helicopter ride were her two priorities. Race 4 Life , thought that throwing in a few extras, to make it a day, sounded like a plan!

So this is what happened....

First Class Classics arrived at Glenis' door this morning with the "Queens Limo" and in style Glenis and Darryl where driven to Auckland Sealink terminal in order to catch the ferry to Waiheke.

At Kennedy Point, Phil Zielger, from Waiheke Rentals, awaited the couple's arrival with a BMW, for Glenis and Darryl to use whilst on the island.

After a little tour of the island, Glenis and Darryl arrived at the Wai Kitchen, in Oneroa, where Sarah and Steve Vanderput hosted them for lunch. Whilst enjoying the stunning food and beverages provided, they were spoilt with a panoramic vista of the beautiful Hauraki Gulf.

At 2.30, it was time to leave and to make their way to the  Waiheke Airfield, where Oceania Helicopter's Richard Stenning and co pilot, Richard Lane of Helitrips, were awaiting them.  Ironically just as the weather improved for the day, Glenis and Darryl were flown from Waiheke to Pykes Point in Onehunga. Continental Cars provided a Porsche Panamara, for volunteer, Kit Maxwell, to drive the exhausted but happy couple home. What an awesome day!!
